Kendall
champion vedamea about last knight
DOB | 26th May 2015
Kendall is absolutely the most effervescent Collie I’ve ever known; she is an absolute joy and delight to live with and love. Her temperament is bomb-proof, she is fabulous off-leash with all dogs, loves people and is very intuitive. She has such a zest for life and a passion for pleasing you.
Kendall or “Kenny” as she is affectionately known was the first progeny for both her dam “Lydia” and sire “Cruz” - and although her stunning brother “Raph” (Vedamea One Knight Stand) took the limelight as a baby, Kendall chipped in with a Best Baby Puppy in Show win at her last show in the baby class, and hasn’t looked back since…

In 2018 Kendall whelped her first litter of 7 puppies - all Tricolour - to “Mozart” Vedamea Walkin On Heir (bred/owned by Leah Ryan of Vedamea Collies, and loved by Sheryl Connors of Connanbrae Collies fame, ACT). A flashy female pup was placed with our good friends Greta Piazzoli & her husband Elliot in Canberra. “Dolly” is their first dog - and first show dog - and we look forward to having them join the sport and share the hobby.
She has dabbled in the herding and agility arenas and Kenny shows a keen interest in both which we will pursue, having gained her Herding Instinct Certificate (HIC) in 2016, and completed two ADAA Agility training courses in 2019. Hopefully we can add some sports titles to the other end of her registered name in the coming years. Brainy, beautiful & biddable.
She held the top spot as #1 Collie Rough in Australia (DOLPS) for the bulk of 2019 in very limited showing, and ended the year with a respectable #2. She was heading into the prime of her show career when the COVID19 pandemic hit, in fact, at her last show before lockdowns were implemented she finally cracked it; a BEST IN SHOW All breeds! We decided to breed her a second time and she produced a beautiful litter of 4; two of whom we retained and look forward to showing them as our ‘next gen’. Hopefully they can follow in Kendalls paw prints! In 2023 we bred Kendall for a 3rd and final time; this time keeping a daughter at home for ourselves to enjoy and carry on with.
Kenny had an accident playing fetch with her best doggie friend which resulted in the loss of 3 front teeth. As a result we decided to retire her from the show ring - she had already more than proved herself as a consistent force. Her final swan song was at the Collie Club of Victoria Specialty where she took out the ultimate award; BEST IN SHOW, under breeder judge Sue Mallia, WA (Arranbrae Collies).
She is enjoying life as a lady of leisure and has the privileged position of bed dog. But now I suppose it’s time to get working on those dog sports titles!
